Styr publishes works of applied philosophy that bring philosophical thinking into conversation with the questions, practices, and challenges of contemporary life.

The journal is devoted to recovering philosophy in its oldest sense: philosophy as a way of life, as preparation for death, and everything  in between.

We welcome philosophy brought into contact with lived experience, public life, ethics, politics, art, culture, science, technology, education, religion, work, relationships, and other areas in which philosophical questions become real.

Styr publishes essays, short reflections, reviews, and occasionally short philosophical miniatures  that are intellectually serious, accessible, and public-facing. Submissions are carefully reviewed and edited by the editorial team.

Styr is the  journal of CAPS: The Cambridge Applied Philosophy Society.
